Family Ties
Sometimes, in the course of researching a place, I find odd connections that I would not have considered in the usual course of events - those odd coincidneces that just make you wonder about how connected the world really is. The following is an example of what I mean:In the late summer of 2003, I met my future husband online - his name is Richard, my name is Mary. Earlier that year, my future husband had helped his father, also named Richard, meet people online. His searches eventually led him to his lady love, also named Mary. Both my husband and his father have been very involved over the years in the same family business as have I and the older Mary. She and I also share an interest in family history, and, as I have recently discovered, a family tie to the same historic inn in Cashtown, PA. It's a small, strange world we inhabit at times.

All houses wherein men have lived and died
are haunted houses.
through the open doors
the harmless phantoms on their errands glide,
with feet that make no sound upon the floors.
